Position Title: Food Runner
Reports to: Support Manager
Position Summary: Serves courses from kitchen and service areas promptly. Communicates with and assists food servers to maintain service efficiency, and ensures guest satisfaction. May assist buspersons in resetting tables.
Responsibilities:
· Delivers food from the kitchen to the table using trays, providing appropriate garnishes, and using ticket information to deliver items to the correct guest.
· Assists with the duties of servers and bus persons, such as securing a food or beverage item for a patron, resetting a table for reuse, etc., as the customer traffic flow allows, to ensure the maintenance of foodservice effectiveness and efficiency.
· Assists with stocking work stations, removing, and resetting soiled dishes and silverware from table at conclusion of each course, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
Prerequisites:
Education:
· High school graduate or equivalent desired.
· Must be able to communicate and understand the primary language(s) of the work location, and understand the primary language(s) of the guests who typically visit the work location.
Experience:
· Varies, depending on the type of restaurant and level of service required.
· A knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures.
Physical:
· Requires bending, climbing, reaching
· Must have the ability to stand for periods of 4-6 hours
· Must be able to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to five hours in length.
